Amanda was a female human officer aboard the USS Quimby until her death in the Battle of Earth. Amanda sacrificed herself to save Charly Burke's life moments before Kaylon destroyed the ship. Her death was the main reason Charly hated Isaac.
Career[]
Amanda served aboard the Quimby as a junior astrometrics officer within the Science Level. She was the "best friend" of Engineer and co-worker Charly. Charly fell in love with Amanda, a fact she kept hidden from Amanda while they were alive.[1] As such, Charly never found out whether Amanda had feelings for her.[2]
In February 2422, the Quimby defended Earth against the Kaylon invasion. She and Charly were performing an emergency reset of the navigational Computer when the order came to abandon ship. They fled to the nearest escape pod, but the pod would not launch because its sequencing mechanism jammed. The two argued about who would manually initiate launch, but Amanda insisted she perform it. Amanda manually initiated launch from outside the pod. She died in the subsequent explosion of the ship.[1]
