Bert Mercer was the husband of Jeannie Mercer and father of Ed Mercer.

History

Bert Mercer lived in Boxford, Massachusetts with his wife Jeannie, where they raised their son Ed, the future captain of the USS Orville.

The pair were friends with another family, the Petersons.

In early October 2419, a holographic version of Jeannie and Bert was created by the Calivon to capture Ed and Kelly Grayson.

Personality

Bert is a loving, if awkward, father. The Calivon simulation of him talked about his diverticulitis, an inflammation of the colon, in front of the entire Orville bridge crew. Ed later remarked: "It even knew to make my dad talk about his colon. That's an advanced technology."
