The Briefing Room is a dedicated conference room on the USS Orville and other Planetary Union starships used by senior officers. On the Orville, it is located by the Bridge and a stairwell to the lower decks.
Description[]
The Briefing Room is a large, rectangular officespace with a conference table and chairs. At the head of the room by the Bridge is a doorway and a table with a pitcher of water and glasses. Video feed is displayed from that area as well for communication outside the ship.
The room's table on the USS Orville changed in July 2420 from a light-brown rectangular table to an dark-brown hexagonal table.[1]
Alternate timelines[]
Doctor Sherman and the senior staff of the Orville admire the contents of a time capsule in the room.
The Orville's Briefing Room is destroyed in late 2419 in an alternate timeline where Pria Lavesque did not save the Orville from a dark matter storm.[2]
In a different timeline where Kelly Grayson did not date Ed Mercer, the Briefing Room lies with the Orville at the bottom of the Mariana trench after the Battle of Earth. John LaMarr uses the room to download Isaac's calculations. The room, along with the rest of the Orville, is destroyed while sending Doctor Claire Finn back in time.[3]
Production[]
The Briefing Room was designed by assistant art director Kit Stølen. In the earliest artwork, the room was set in the underside of the Orville's hull and the center table doubled as a television monitor.[4]

- A framed picture of the Union Dockyard doubles as the Briefing Room's communication screen. The picture is in fact an old piece of concept art of the Dockyard for Old Wounds.[5]
- The Lak'vai Pact of Tarazed 3 was signed by Captain Ed Mercer and Ambassador K.T.Z. in the Orville's Briefing Room.[6]
- Chief of Security Talla Keyali destroyed the Brief Room table in a fit of rage in Heroes, Pt. 1.
