The Commencement Rite of the Kazh-gal is a rite in Moclan society that renews a relationship between two partners.
In late 2422, Bortus and Klyden underwent this ritual in the forests of Listak 2 to renew their relationship after the turbulence between the two of them centered around their daughter, Topa. The ceremony was officiated by Captain Ed Mercer of the USS Orville in the absence of a Moclan official following the two's renouncement of their Moclan citizenship.
