Engineering.

Helmsman Gordon Malloy and Chief Engineer John LaMarr.
Engineering Officers are in charge the helm, navigation, and engineering, including the operation and maintenance of vessels and shuttlecraft.[1] Their most crucial function is to maintain ships' quantum accelerators, which are responsible for faster-than-light travel. They are also tasked with performing routine maintenance on ships' shuttlecraft.[2]
A sub-section of engineering is helm control. Engineering Officers can serve as pilots of ships, including the Navigator responsible for trajectory and the Helmsman responsible for flight. Another sub-section of engineering was systems; a system engineer was trained to supervise the functioning of ship systems.[3]
Engineering's insignia is engine gears and its uniform color is orange.
