The Envall are a humanoid species from the star system Lakkar B, which is located far from the space of the Planetary Union.
Biology[]
Externally, the Envall appear identical to humans. However, their blood is colored mustard yellow rather than red. Most notably, the Envall are distinguished in that their blood cells contain an iodide compound which, when exposed to a nitrogen-rich atmosphere, renders the plasma highly unstable; when their blood is shed, it becomes an explosive substance. The atmosphere of their homeworld includes an element that neutralizes the effect, but they remain too "biologically dangerous" for other races to interact with.
History[]
The Envall made contact with the Planetary Union by the late 24th century. Circa 2370, they made an agreement with the Union to avoid any worlds with nitrogen atmospheres, leading to limited contact with Union member races.[2] The agreement was unofficially violated by a young woman posing as the deceased daughter of Orrin Channing.
