Doctor Derek Ashton was a human lab technician and informant to the Krill who joined the Epsilon Science Station in 2418. Prior to his betrayal of the Union in September 2419, he worked on research regarding a time-accelerating device.
It is presumed, though not certain, that Derek was incarcerated following the Battle of Epsilon 2.
History[]
A ground team from the USS Orville arrived at the Epsilon Science Station at the behest of the facility chief, Doctor Aronov. Aronov was aware that the Krill military had been interested in their research on time-acceleration, but was unsure of specifics and requested the security of the Orville.
With the Orville in orbit, Ashton sensed that the window of opportunity to secure the device for the Krill was closing quickly. He summoned a Krill destroyer and attempted to hold the facility hostage in exchange for the device. Alara Kitan, the Orville's chief of security, knocked him unconscious and handcuffed him.
