Lieutenant

Lieutenant was a commissioned officer rank used by the Planetary Union. It ranked below Lieutenant Commander and above Ensign.

Lieutenants served on space-faring vessels, space stations, and planets as small-section leaders within departments or even as chiefs of departments. The training as section leaders prepared them for higher command positions. Lieutenants were often responsible for the performance of ensigns and other lieutenants.

Lieutenant was one of the most common ranks within the Union.
