Please understand, my love. Make a life out there with Nathius. A beautiful life among the stars.— Hallan Theece, to her husband[1]
Hallan Theece was a Nyxian First Minister to a subterranean civilization on Nyxia. She died along with most of her people when Nyxia's sun destroyed the planet in in August 2420.
History[]
After Nyxia's nearby sun had transformed into a red giant, Hallan Theece was chosen to be the First Minister to the planet's remaining civilization. She married Altox, and the two had a daughter, Nathius.
Theece led her people as the sun swiftly destroyed their planet. She was contacted by the USS Orville in August 2420. Captain Ed Mercer informed Theece of the existence of life outside of Nyxia and worked alongside her to help evacuate the 75 surviving inhabitants she governed. Due to technical difficulties aboard the Orville and the limited time to save her people, the Orville was able only to send a single shuttlecraft to Nyxia and evacuate 30 people.
The Nyxians held a lottery to decide those who could go, but Theece recused, believing that it would not be "right" for a First Minister to leave her people. She soon perished along with the rest of the Nyxia, engulfed by the red giant.
Personality[]
Hallan Theece is a compassionate and fair leader to the Nyxian people. Despite having the option to ensure her spot on the Orville's shuttlecraft due to being First Minister, but instead decides to honor the results of the lottery and not come. Before her husband leaves, Theece tells him to live well and prosper raising their daughter, Nathius, and to look after the remaining Nyxians.
Trivia[]
