We must protect our people. So if you stand in our way, you can take me with you, but my fleet is proceeding.— Kratok

Kratok was a Krill Captain of a battleship and Commander of a fleet in the early 25th century. He led multiple destroyers both before and after the Lak'vai Pact of Tarazed 3 was signed with the Planetary Union, and notably found himself engaged in missions both against and alongside the USS Orville. In his last known whereabouts, Kratok had been "shifted" to a new universe where he attacked the planet Alibar.

Life[]

In July 2420, Kratok commanded a small fleet of three destroyers. Kratok's crew detected the Orville, which was holographically disguised as a fellow battle cruiser, headed from Krill space to Union space. Though scanners showed the Orville really was a Krill vessel, Kratok suspected something was awry. Teleya, at the time a member of his crew, suggested they scan the vessel with neutron radiation, which foiled the Orville's holographic generator. He ordered all ships to intercept and fire when in range.[1]

The Orville flew into a nearby asteroid field to hide. Kratok ordered the two other destroyers to follow the ship inside while he waited outside. Missiles from the destroyers generated significant debris and dust, allowing the Orville to slip into the cave of an asteroid. A subsequent rock fall sealed the Orville inside. Kratok and his officers could not locate the Orville, but he knew their quarry was hiding somewhere in the field. They eventually realized the Orville was inside a particularly large asteroid and began tunneling through.[1]

When Kratok's fleet bore through the asteroid, the Orville launched a Transporter-class vessel disguised by the holographic generator as the Orville itself. Kratok ordered all ships pursue the transport, which they seized.[1]

By July 2421, Kratok's fleet had grown from three to eight destroyers. He entered Union space to attack a "construct" in the Alibar system suspected of being a massive weapon. He told Captain Ed Mercer of the Orville that he bore no hard feelings for what transpired 12 months ago. After the Krill government agreed to wait two days for the Orville to investigate the construct, Kratok and the other commanders in his fleet quietly formed an attack plan should the Orville interfere with their mission.[2]

Halfway through the second day, Kratok chose to attack early but was deterred by acting captain Bortus of the Orville who had trained all weapons on his bridge.[3]

With less than two hours remaining, the construct's quantum output spiked. Kratok deemed the threat too pressing to be ignored and began the attack - even at the cost of his own life. Surprisingly, Bortus agreed and the Orville joined the strike. Ed interrupted from a shuttle to say the construct was a Quantum Shifter that was about to send the Alibar system (and everything in it) to a new universe. Kratok dismissed it as "fairy tales" and continued the attack even as the Orville fled. The shifter activated and sent Alibar and Kratok's fleet to a new, empty universe. Kratok and his Sazeron realized Ed was correct but recalled the commands found in the Anhkana to "invade and conquer," and his fleet advanced on Alibar.[3]
