The neutron field generator within the Yakar.
The neutron field generator was an experimental Krill weapon. It was capable of exterminating all life on a planetary continent within minutes.
History[]
The Krill destroyer Yakar carried a prototype of the generator, on a mission to test the weapon by destroying the Planetary Union farming colony on Rana III.
The field generator also had the unexpected side effect of disrupting holographic fields on the same frequency, as Captain Ed Mercer and Lieutenant Gordon Malloy learned when infiltrating the Yakar in disguise.
Mercer and Malloy initially intended to destroy the generator by using their holographic emitters to remotely create a feedback loop to overload the weapon, destroying the Yakar. They aborted the plan upon learning there were children aboard the ship. The generator was later launched by the Krill at Rana III, however Malloy was able to destroy the generator, using the Yakar's own weapons before it reached the planet.
