KemkaOrville

Kemka is leader of the Reformers.

The Reformers were a group of dissidents residing within the Bio-ship, united by the belief that the religion of Dorahl does not explain their vessel they live on. The leader of the Reformers was Kemka. The group is presumed to be disbanded after dissolution of Hamelac's government.

History[]

Reformers point to structures within the ship that did not comport to the "word of Dorahl," a religious belief that the ecosystem of the ship constituted the whole of the universe. Specifically, the existence of doors leading to the shell of the bioship indicated that there was a world beyond the ecosystem.

As Reformers represented an existential threat to the theocratic government led by Hamelac, they were brutally tortured or killed if discovered, and Reformers met only in secret in a member's farmhouse. Charges against any Reformer was blasphemy against the word of Dorahl.

After the USS Orville revealed the bioship to the people and exposed Hamelac's government, the Reformers were trained by the Planetary Union to command and fly their own ship and to colonize a new planet.

Overthrow of Hamelac[]

An away team from the Orville meets Tomilin, a young Reformer, who introduces the team to the others. The Reformers agree to disguise the team and storm Hamelac's government in search of Commander Kelly Grayson, who was captured under suspicion of being a Reformer herself.

From outside Hamelac's capital building, Grayson witnesses an angry mob beat a Reformer to death for blasphemy.

The Orville takes select members of the Reformers to the bridge of their bioship and explains that their ship is drifting in space. The Orville arranges for the Planetary Union to train all people of the bioship.
