The Vega Mining Consortium (also Vega Consortium) refers to an association of several companies dedicated to extracting materials from interstellar bodies. In November, 2419, the time traveler Pria Lavesque poses as a Vega miner in order to board the USS Orville.
Description[]
Vega Consortium operates on the frontier of space as charted by the Planetary Union. It secures mining rights on inhabited planets if necessary, or may mine on uninhabited celestial bodies as well. Mining consortia like Vega have a high employee turnover rate, leading to "sloppy" record-keeping and incomplete personnel manifests.
Additionally, according to Lavesque, Vega mines exist in the Matar system and on Pollux 5. The consortium operates a ship called the Horizon, though this information may have been invented as part of Pria's cover.
History[]
Pria Lavesque pretends to be a Vega Consortium miner to fool the crew of the Orville. In reality, she is an antique smuggler from the 29th century.
